Program Overview
The Wadena Nordic Ski Program, established in 2021, aims to provide youth with the opportunity to engage in Nordic skiing, fostering both athletic skills and community spirit. With a current budget deficit threatening its existence, we seek urgent support to sustain and grow this vital program for future generations.
Funding Needs
To maintain the program, we require emergency funding of $6,200 for the upcoming year. This budget covers essential costs such as transportation and equipment, ensuring that all interested youth can participate without financial barriers. If we do not come up with outside funding, the school plans to cut the program due to budget cuts.

We encourage community members and local businesses to contribute through donations or sponsorships. Your support not only helps keep the program alive but also enriches the lives of young athletes in our community.

The Wadena Nordic Ski Program started in 2021 at Wadena-Deer Creek. The team has ranged from 7 to 12 dedicated skiers each year. Our dedicated coach, Terry Olson, has been instrumental in developing the program, emphasizing not just skiing skills but also life lessons. As we face potential cuts to our funding, we are reaching out to the community for support to keep this program thriving. This is a lifetime sport that promotes fitness and enjoying the outdoors, and we are so fortunate to have this program at Wadena-Deer Creek.

Our athletes have participated in various competitions, showcasing their skills and dedication.
